#MattsMessage

In memory of my brother, Matt - and the conversation that can save a life.

Why I do this

My brother, Matt

In 2012, I lost my brother, Matt. He saw no way of getting the help he needed, and sadly took his own life.

Since then, I have spoken about Matt all over the world. Losing him changed everything for me - it is the reason I do what I do, and why I am so determined to get people, and especially men, to open up about how they really feel.

I have experienced first hand how bottling things up doesn’t work. Too many people keep it all in because they think no one will understand, or because they don’t know where to turn. #MattsMessage is a simple one: you don’t have to carry it alone, and there is always hope.

If you know someone who is struggling, please point them my way. You never know - it may make the difference, that makes the difference.

Behind every one of those numbers is a person, and the people who loved them. Talking really can make the difference.
