Andrew “Diesel” Bennett Announced as Ambassador for SOS Silence of Suicide
I’m delighted to announce that I have become an Ambassador for SOS Silence of Suicide, a charity dedicated to breaking the silence around suicide, encouraging open conversations and helping people feel heard, supported and understood.
Through my own lived experience and my work as a Suicide Prevention Activist, I have long been passionate about challenging the stigma surrounding suicide and mental health. My #MattsMessage initiative and wider work through K&RYN and AB Performance focus on turning lived experience into real impact, helping people recognise distress, start difficult conversations and access support before they reach crisis point.
On becoming an Ambassador, I said:
“I’m incredibly proud and excited to become an Ambassador for SOS Silence of Suicide. Their mission resonates deeply with me. We need to create a culture where talking about suicide isn’t something we shy away from, and where people feel able to say ‘I’m not okay’ without fear of judgement. I’m looking forward to using my voice, experience and platform to help SOS continue its vital work and, ultimately, help more people feel heard, supported and hopeful.”
I’ll use my role to help raise awareness, encourage honest conversations around suicide and mental health, and support SOS in its mission to ensure that no one feels they have to suffer in silence.
Diesel.
